i.a.c. Junior Diver
Course objective
In this course, you will get to know the different parts of your diving equipment and, together with your instructor, complete your first dive. You will also learn interesting and important facts about underwater animals and plants, the proper handling of your diving gear, underwater behavior, and much more.
Course content
Theoretical Training: Learn to identify and describe diving equipment, explain a dive, name some underwater animals and plants & recognize certain dangerous species, understand diving hazards, and learn & apply basic underwater hand signals.
Practical Training: ABC exercises & water/nasal reflex control, proper handling of equipment, assembling and disassembling the dive gear, putting on and taking off the equipment in the correct order, paying attention to and responding to the instructor's signals, proper descent and ascent, control and safety stop, pressure equalization, removing and reinserting the mouthpiece, clearing the mask, resuming breathing through the regulator, and performing all exercises calmly and without stress.
- Minimum age: 8 years (with parental consent)
- Proof/declaration of swimming ability
- Declaration of health and, if required, a diving medical certificate (see here)
- For children up to the age of 14, a medical certificate from a doctor is mandatory.
You will need swimwear, towels, a change of dry clothes, drinking water and a good mood.
Course duration
You should plan approximately 3 days for this course. In addition to the theoretical training, at least 3 qualifying dives must be completed.

i.a.c. Junior Scuba Diver
Course objective
After your first dives as a Junior Diver, this course will teach you many new skills, such as underwater navigation, buoyancy control, and diver hand signals. You will also gain deeper knowledge about the underwater world. The course can also be started directly upon reaching the required age.
Course content
Theoretical Training: Describe the dive process, identify multiple underwater animals and plants, learn additional underwater hand signals, recognize certain dangerous species, and understand further diving hazards.
Practical Training: ABC exercises, review of skills from the Junior Diver program, basic underwater navigation, knowledge of different underwater landscapes, head-first and feet-first descents, proper descent and ascent with the instructor, assessing swimming position, hydrostatic balance, breathing underwater without a mask, surfacing using the instructor’s alternate regulator, surface evaluation, and additional underwater hand signals.

Course duration
For this course, you should plan between 3 and 5 days, depending on age. In addition to the theoretical training, at least 4 qualifying dives must be completed.

i.a.c. Junior Open Water Diver
Course objective
By now, you are already one of the more advanced junior divers, and in this course, you will learn about the basic physics of diving, how to maintain your diving equipment, and proper behavior within a dive group. However, if you are still an inexperienced diver, you can also start this course directly.
Course content
Theoretical Training: Describe the dive process, basic principles of physical laws, effects of pressure on the human body, safety rules within a dive group & diver flags, and additional diving hazards.
Practical Training: ABC exercises, review of skills from the Junior Scuba Diver program, knowing, preparing & checking equipment, protecting the regulator from dirt & damage, cleaning, drying & maintaining equipment, practicing awareness & consideration, ensuring safety within the group, maintaining level positioning with the instructor, performing a buddy check in the 3-meter depth range, informing the instructor of signals or issues, snorkeling at the surface, and leading a small dive group.
